More protein when cutting carbs
If I am trying to lean out and I cut my carbohydrate intake, would it be beneficial to increase the amount of protein I get.
Not really, as long as the protein is at 1g/lb bodyweight. It's all about calories, and if you go down 20g carbs and up 20g protein...it won't really prove much!
Adding in more calories for strength
I have a very busy lifestyle and job and would like to find a way to incorporate more quality calories into my diet. I always try to get my calories from real food but I am at the point where I do not have to the time and resources to always do that. Perhaps a meal replacement supplement such as Redcon 1's MRE? Any advice would me much appreciated!
The best bet is Epic Gains by MTS Nutrition, blows everything else away and even has fruits and veggies built in!
What are your favorite Fat Burning Ingridients that you look for in a fat burner?
when looking into a fat burner what do you look for? Caffeine? Green tea? Yohimbine HCL? L-carnitine?
shit days & great days
in your opinion, when you have a day where you just feel shit, mentally or physically, and your performance in the gym is quite poor, should you just pack up & leave and hopefully come back better the next day, or push through it?
Alternatively, on days you feel amazing, is staying in the gym 2-3 hours ok?
Or is it all individual & dependant on type of
FUCK THAT! Power through and lift--that's how you develop as a PERSON! Lifting is about more than muscle.
And there is never a need to train that long. Get in, get it done, get a job
Substituting big accessories for the big three
In relation to building the big three lifts, what is your opinion on training the big accessories as a primary movement in order to get a break from the regular movements? E.g. instead of deadlifting, doing rack pulls or RDLs, or doing floor press or close grip instead of bench press? Thanks big man!
I like to see full ROM. Thus, not a fan of those UNLESS a powerlifting strategy!
Thought on a smith machine?
Do you think it would be a good idea to incorporate some exercises using a smith machine into your training ? Or is it best to just stick to barbells and dumbbells
I don't like the open chain and fixed plane. Stick to barbells and dumbbells!
Cycle off Pre Workouts
Marc,
Do you suggest cycling off caffeinated pre workouts? I have read caffeine tolerance builds up over time and one needs more of a product to get the same effects. If cycle between stim and non stim pre workouts is recommended, can you give an estimate of how long one should use a stim pre workout before needing to cycle off? How long would one need to cycle off?
Epicatechin
So one of the "other" companies came out with a creatine supplement containing epicatechin as a big selling point. Do you think it truly it is the myostatin inhibitor of the future? Studies done on a very small sample size support that consumption of the product correlated to a decrease in myostatin production. But like always, it seems too good to be true.
