Creatine blend not meeting daily requirement

Max Fahlmark 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 2

hey Marc. My pre workout contains a 3G creatine blend of creatine nitrate phosphate and dicreatine malate. I know I should be taking 5g of creatine a day. Since this is a blend of 3 different mind meeting only 3G out of 5g.. should I be taking 2g of mono to meet my need or take 3G of me pre and 5g of my monohydrate. Thanks!

Supplement Laws

cmyoun03 8 years ago updated by Marc Lobliner 8 years ago 1

As a university student,  in some of my nutrition classes we've studied the supplement act of 1994. Several of my professors basically explain it as supplement companies being able to sell dirt in a bottle and call it a supplement. As a bodybuilder and someone whose taken supplements like BCAAS, preworkout etc for years, I'm curious how true their explanation is? I'm picky about what I take, hence why I use MTS, but from your experience what regulations/requirements do supplements have to meet/pass before you can sell them to the public? And what standards do supplement companies like MTS hold themselves to that maybe aren't necessarily required by law?

Supplement Sweeteners

cmyoun03 8 years ago updated by Marc Lobliner 8 years ago 1

When looking at sweeteners in various supplements like whey, BCAAs etc, does it really matter if the sweetener is sucralose vs stevia? Aside from stevia being viewed as more natural, what's the difference, does it really even matter?

Pre workout for crossfit and hiit?

Greg Allen 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 2

Marc, how do you feel about taking a pre workout for crossfit and various types of hiit? I've read and heard to avoid them due to how elevated your heart rate gets during this type of training and adding a preworkout will elevate your heart rate to an unhealthy level. What do you recommend? Thank you.

bodybuilder gut

Daniel Tapia 8 years ago updated by Marc Lobliner 8 years ago 1

marc, i am on my second cycle.  half way in i have already put on another 10lbs.  the issue is that i seem to be developing that bodybuilder gut where the top part of my stomach barrels out a bit when i take deep breaths or don't posture.  i am not on HGH or insulin.  i am thinking it is from the massive increase in caloric intake.  am i not controlling portions well enough so my stomach is expanding each time i eat?  what do i do to take in the amount of calories necessary but not get this hard barrel upper stomach.  i still have abs, so it's so confusing!!

Triceps are too damn strong and no equipment available

scott smith 8 years ago updated by Marc Lobliner 8 years ago 1

Hello! When training chest my triceps dominate and I struggle to grow my chest. The problem is that I work out at home where I do not have access to specialized equipment. I have access to a Power rack, dumbbells and barbells. What tips can you give me... P.S I had shoulder surgery so just pushups give me too much pain.

Fish oil

I just read a study on taking four grams of fish oil (omega 3s) and its benefits even when you are already healthy. What would happen if I were to just take around 2 grams of omega 3s. I'm a graduate student and momey is super tight
