Build Muscle while still getting Cardio in

Hey Marc - GREAT YouTube channel....thanks!     I'm a 54 year old man, and I lift 5 days a week, sometimes 6 or 7 - depending on schedule, mood, etc.   I've been active like this most of my life, but  have always carried excess fat around my waist.    I took your body type quiz, and am a Somatype 4:4:1, but I think I trend more toward endomorph.   I want to continue to build muscle and lose fat as I get older, but I also have been advised by docs to bump up cardio, due to family history of cardiac issues (none with me, but I want to be mindful of history).    For cardio, I do 40-45 min in the gym (after weights), or swim a couple miles a day, several days per week.    I had feared some over-training, but after watching one of your recent videos, I get it that it's highly unlikely.    Recent adjustments I've made are moving to a Keto diet (seems to be helping) and doing your squat every day recommendation (I like this a lot, but I have a spine fusion, so often do a variety of squats versus traditional heavy barbell squats).       There's my story - if you've got some recommendations on how to maintain / add muscle and drop fat while keeping the docs happy on the cardio front, I'm all ears!   Thanks, Bill

Honestly, keep calories higher and it will compensate for the increased cardio to help you make gains!
